Rational

The song I chose was Jefferson Aeroplane’s White Rabbit. My interpretation of the song talks about the good and bad choices we make and how it greatly affects us as a person. I wanted to show this idea through my contrasting triptych that lets the viewer pick their ending through the choice they make.  I decided to base my idea on drink driving; an ongoing problem that our society frequently sees that could lead to life or death.

The lyrics I chose were:

“One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small”

First verse introduces the two choices that the viewer can make, and the outcome is greatly affected by it. This scene is located in the middle of the triptych and shows the viewer walking out of a bar and has been possibly drinking. She then splits into two and walks in separate directions. There are cars and taxis aligned on both sides to indicate the choices the viewer can make. I used contrasting colours for the taxi and cars to foreshadow the scene they will pick. The brighter colours indicate a good ending and the dull colours would be the bad. Depending on what person the viewer decides to follow, will determine their outcome of the story.

“Go ask Alice, I think she’ll know”
The chorus indicates that the viewer has received advices from someone. In this case, the consultant is somebody sober and will take the viewer to the right direction. In this scene, the viewer decided to pick the left side (the taxi).  I used bright and warm colours to portray a cosy atmosphere as the viewer got home safely and is shown to be spending time with her family.

“When logic and proportion, have fallen sloppy dead”
The second verse talks about losing yourself and making bad choices that will lead to a bad outcome. In this scene, the viewer decided to drink and drive, leading to their death. The dull colour represents the empty and sad mood felt when we decide to make a bad choice.

Development

Testing out the timing of the fade in. It appeared faster than I had wanted it to.

More Animating

The coffin was moving too fast. Experimenting
with the speed. I also might change their face
colour as the grey looks a little bit zombie-like.

Animating

Playing around with the speed. I also added some extra features to the taxi
to help distinguish it from the cars on the right. Also changed the colours to link
in with the outcome panel. (Using similar colours from the right triptych). The colour
is also brighter so it gives a more happy atmosphere. (foreshadowing outcome that its a good one)

Drawing up my Animation - (Right Triptych)

Changing the colours to create a more dull/empty atmosphere. I also
used the same flowers from the living room scene, but changing the colours
of it to suit this sad theme.

Drawing up my Animation - (Left Triptych)

I tried using different colours for the tv but it didn't seem to
work as well as the purple. (judging that the tv would be darker
from the shadows) so I will be reverting back to the original colour.
